DESCRIPTION:Bio: Stephanie Forrest is Professor of  Computer Science at th
 e University of New Mexico in Albuquerque\, and she is Co-Chair of the San
 ta Fe Institute Science Board.  Her research studies adaptive systems\, in
 cluding immunology\, evolutionary computation\, biological modeling\, comp
 uter security\, and software.  Professor Forrest received M.S. and Ph.D. d
 egrees in Computer and Communication Sciences from the University of Michi
 gan and a B.A. from St. John's College.  Before joining UNM in 1990 she wo
 rked for Teknowledge Inc. and was a Director's Fellow at the Center for No
 nlinear Studies\, Los Alamos National Laboratory.  She currently serves on
  the Computing Research Association CCC Council.
