DESCRIPTION:Since moving to Brampton more than 25 years ago Dr. Pat Doody\
 , a professional\ncoastal ecologist\, has taken a special interest in Port
 holme Meadow. He will\ndescribe its landscape setting\, history and owners
 hip. The talk will look at the\ntraditional pattern of haymaking and after
 math grazing\, based on practices\npossibly dating back for more than 500 
 years\, and consider the way this and\nregular flooding have helped sustai
 n a rich flora and fauna\, how current climatic\nchange threatens this int
 erest\, and what is being done to remedy the situation.\n\n
