DESCRIPTION:In this talk we consider analytical reconstruction formulas fo
r photoacoustic experiments where the illumination is focused to a plane.
In standard Photoacoustic experiments\, where the whole specimen is unifor
mly illuminated the total energy required can be way too much\, and thus f
ocusing becomes necessary.\n\nSuch focusing experiments require novel reco
nstruction techniques for\nimaging\, which will be the core topic of this
talk. Moreover\, the reconstruction \nalgorithms also depend on the measur
ement setup - we will discuss standard \npoint detectors\, realizable for
instance by piezo crystals\, and integrating \ndetectors\, realizable for
instance by Mach-Zehnder interferometers.\nIn addition\, we review photoac
oustic imaging formulas to but the work in \nperspective.\n\nThis is joint
  work with P. Elbau and R. Schulze (RICAM\, Linz\, Austria).\n\n
