DESCRIPTION:We consider SL differential operators with a potential having 
 a singularity in the interior of the interval. In some situations (e.g. fo
 r a Bessel type singularity) the differential expression generates a self-
 adjoint operator in a Pontryagin space. These considerations are related t
 o M.G.Krein's method for solving the inverse spectral problem for SL opera
 tors. Joint work with Malcolm Brown and Matthias Langer.\n\n
