DESCRIPTION:Abstract:\nWhile studies in rodents suggest that dopamine is n
ecessary for enabling the molecular consolidation of hippocampal plasticit
y\, very little is known about the role of dopamine for hippocampus-depend
ent memory in humans. On the basis of functional imaging studies and phar
macological experiments\, I will discuss which role dopamine may play for
human episodic memory in young and older adults. Furthermore\, I will disc
uss motivational aspects of episodic memory from the vantage point of nove
lty processing in dopaminergic circuitry. \n\n
