DESCRIPTION:The Galactic center is the most efficient\, and most extreme s
tar-forming\nenvironment in the Milky Way. It brings forth some of the lar
gest\nstar-formation complexes\, such as the Sgr B2 complex\, and richest
young\nstar clusters. The Arches and Quintuplet star clusters\, at a proje
cted\ndistance of 30 pc from the supermassive black hole\, are among the m
ost\nmassive\, young starburst clusters that formed in the Galactic disk w
ithin\nthe past 5 Myr. Proper motion studies with adaptive optics instrume
nts\nallowed us to measure the orbital motion of these star clusters. Both
\nclusters appear to share very similar orbits in the inner Galaxy\, with\
ntheir orbital velocities being substantially larger than expected from\nc
ircular orbits.\nI will present constraints on their orbital motions and d
iscuss possible\nformation scenarios of these massive clusters by inchanne
ling of molecular\nclouds via the bar potential.
