er data of various types of stars - Conny Aerts\, Leuven

DESCRIPTION:The CoRoT and Kepler space missions\, while still ongoing\, al
ready\nrevolutionised our view on stellar pulsation. In this talk\, we\nil
lustrate how\nthe immense advantage of having long-term uninterrupted data
from space\nwith a\nfactor 100 better precision compared to data from the
ground implies large\nprogress in the tuning of stellar physics. In parti
 cular\, we focus on\nthe cases\nwhere gravity-mode oscillations were detec
ted and allowed modelling of the\nnear-core regions in stars. We end by hi
ghlighting future prospects\nbased on the\ncontinuing data gathering by bo
 th missions.
