DESCRIPTION:Motivated by the physics of the quantum Hall effect\, it is na
 tural to consider systems of interacting anyons. The simplest models which
  one can construct are one-dimensional chains. I will introduce these mode
 ls\, in close analogy to the Heisenberg spin chains\, and the behaviour of
  these chains will be discussed. If time allows\, I will also discuss gene
 ralizations by varying the types of anyons and/or the role of the topologi
 cal (non-local) symmetry present in these models.\n
