DESCRIPTION:Cambridge Ukrainian Studies\, a programme of the Department of
  Slavonic Studies at the University of Cambridge\, is inviting interested 
 graduate students and researchers at the beginning of their careers to par
 ticipate in a special workshop in contemporary Ukrainian Studies.  \n\nCon
 ducted by Professor George Grabowicz -- Dmytro Chyzhevs'kyj Professor of U
 krainian Literature at Harvard University -- the workshop is entitled 'Ukr
 ainian Literature and Europe: Asymmetries\, Aporias\, and Discourses'.  It
  will explore various conceptualizations of Ukraine and Ukrainian literatu
 re within (and outside) the frame of 'Europe'\, offering workshop particip
 ants a provocative view into Ukraine's position 'between East and West'.  
  \n\nThe workshop will take place on Friday\, 14 October 2010 from 11am to
  2pm in the Beves Room\, King's College\, Cambridge. \n\nFor accepted work
 shop participants\, coffee and lunch will be provided\, and expenses for d
 omestic economy train travel to and from Cambridge reimbursed.  A certific
 ate of participation is furnished to attendees at the conclusion of the ev
