  Group Seminar of Michaelmas Term.\n\nGuest speaker Dr. Libby Saxton will 
 be at CRASSH on Monday 21st November for a talk on 'Passion\, Energy and M
 atter: Godard's Gestures'.\n\nLibby Saxton's research interests include th
 e interactions between film and continental thought\, especially philosoph
 ies of ethics\; French cinema\; and representations of the Holocaust and t
 he Algerian War of Independence. She is the author of 'Film and Ethics: Fo
 reclosed Encounters' (co-authored with Lisa Downing\, 2009) and 'Haunted I
 mages: Film\, Ethics\, Testimony and the Holocaust'(2008). At the moment\,
  she is working on a monograph on European film and postsecular thought an
 d co-editing the volume 'Holocaust Intersections: Genocide and Visual Cult
 ure at the New Millennium' (forthcoming with Legenda in 2012).\n\n_*Presen
