DESCRIPTION:This talk will give an overview of the conclusion of the Fourt
 h Assessment report (AR4) of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change
  (IPCC). It is aimed particularly at new PhD students and PDRAs and will f
 ocus on the scientific basis of climate change (WG1).\nI will try to empha
 sise issues of uncertainty\, as presented in the report.
