DESCRIPTION:Bernard joined Arup’s Advanced Technology and Research (AT+R
 ) Group in October 2010. Since then he has worked on a variety of projects
 \, many of which focus on getting the best value for clients and finding n
 ovel engineering solutions by tackling problems both with a first-principl
 es approach and computational analysis. His talk will focus on the AT+R gr
 oup at Arup and the projects he has been working on in his first year. The
  main focus will be on consideration of structural dynamics issues\, inclu
 ding a highly vibration sensitive technical facility design\, bouncy gymna
 sium floors and fatigue analysis of a tower.\n\n
