 chnique that lies at the heart of many statistical methods and has a large
  number of practical applications. In my talk I will try to convey an intu
 itive understanding of PCA\, but also give a rigorous mathematical derivat
 ion. In addition\, I will describe some of the applications of PCA (such a
 s face recognition).
