DESCRIPTION:In this talk I will present an overview of a new method\, borr
owed from Ricci flow\, to numerically construct static and stationary blac
k hole spacetimes with or without a cosmological constant. This method is
based on the harmonic formulation of the Einstein equations and it is the
state of the art in static/stationary Numerical Relativity. I will illustr
ate how it works with two (interrelated) examples: the numerical construct
ion of the gravitational dual of N=4 super Yang-Mills on the background of
the Schwarzschild black hole and the construction of braneworld black hol
es. Finally I will summarise and I will outline some future directions for
  research.
