SUMMARY:Two ways to get superluminal neutrinos but not enough to explain O
 PERA - Tim Morris (Southampton)

DESCRIPTION:If their mass is small enough\, off-shell neutrinos could make
their way from CERN to\nGran Sasso faster than light\, but this cannot ex
plain the OPERA experiment because\nthe energy scale is wrong. Deformation
of the wave-packet from interference effects\nbetween mass eigenstates\,
also results in superluminal propagation for certain very\nnarrow energy r
anges\, but this effect is also far too limited to explain OPERA. \n\n
