DESCRIPTION:Smoluchowski's coagulation equations are a mean-field model th
 at describe coagulation of homogeneously distributed particles. A fundamen
 tal question is the one of  dynamic scaling\, that is whether solutions co
 nverge to a uniquely determined self-similar profile.\nHowever\, only for 
 the solvable kernels this issue is well understood\, while for non-solvabl
 e kernels even the existence of self-similar solutions is difficult to pro
 ve. We will give a review about the results that have been established for
   non-solvable kernels and present some new results on the existence of fa
 t-tail solutions for a class of such kernels.
