DESCRIPTION:Creating ground truth for optical flow in natural outdoor envi
ronments seems almost impossible. In this talk\, I will propose two approa
ches we are currently investigating.\nThe first approach is to use semi-au
tomatic vision algorithms as is done for example in movie postproduction t
o create "weak" ground truth. The second approach is to evaluate the prope
rties of today's computer graphic rendering systems with respect to their
ability to generate images close to the real world.\nFinally I will discus
s the problem of defining performance measures and benchmarking with respe
ct to correspondence estimation and related algorithms.
