DESCRIPTION:The lecture will be in two parts:\n1) The use of Tissue dopple
 r imaging (TDI) including strain and strain rate and Speckle tracking echo
 cardiography to assess myocardial performance in dogs with degenerative/my
 xomatous mitral valve disease or DCM and in cats with HCM and hypertension
 .\n2) The use of Real-time 3-dimensional echocardiography to assess left v
 entricular and left atrial volumes and ejection fractions in dogs with mit
 ral valve disease and in healthy control dogs.
