  for Sellar Properties\, the Shard comprises 28 storeys of offices\, 12 st
 oreys of apartments\, six storeys of restaurants and an 18 storey hotel. I
 t is surmounted by a 60m tall spire\, containing a public viewing gallery\
 , bringing the height to 310m.The talk will concentrate on the structural 
 aspects of the Shard: its design\, construction and unusual features.\n\nR
 oma is a Senior Engineer at WSP London and has worked as part of the struc
 tural team on the Shard for over five years. Other project experience incl
 udes Crystal Palace Station Enhancement and Northumbria University Footbri
 dges.\n\n
