DESCRIPTION:Allan Mayo\, Head of the BIS Services Policy Unit has been foc
 ussing on Service Innovation since 2007.  For the past 18 months\, he has 
 been working with the Professional and Business Services Group\, Chaired b
 y Sir Michael Snyder\, on policies to promote growth.  The Group provided 
 an input into Phase 1 of the Growth Review and has recently contributed pa
 pers on Open Data\, Infrastructure\, Mid-Size Firms and Education and Skil
 ls.  He was also invited to Chair a European Expert Panel on Service Innov
 ation\, which reported to Vice President Tajani last February and\, subseq
 uently\, he has been invited to discuss its findings with a number of memb
 er states\, regions\, members of the European Parliament as well as the OE
 CD.\n\nHis talk will outline his thinking in relation to innovation and gr
 owth and it will also encompass the web based approach he takes to develop
 ing communities of interest and the use of interactive roadmapping approac
 hes to policy making\, with a live demonstration.\n
