 of the year as we welcome two speakers with papers on the Early Modern Per
 iod.\n\nOur light blue contender this week is local favourite Jonathan Pat
 terson giving a paper entitled ’An ever-present trouble? The continuing 
 yet changing presence of avarice in early modern France (c. 1550-1615)’\
 , whilst his dark blue opponent\, Jennifer Oliver\, will be speaking on 
 ‘Ships\, statecraft and authorship in Ronsard and Montaigne.’.
