SUMMARY:Variational Methods in 3+Dimensional Biomedical Imaging - Martin B
 urger (Uni Münster)
DTSTART:20120702T150000Z

CONTACT:Florian Markowetz
DESCRIPTION:This talk will focus on variational methods used for the recon
struction\, processing and analysis of biomedical images in three spatial
dimensions\, with a strong focus on applications in fluorescence microscop
y and positron emission tomography. Although operating with different tech
nology and at different scales\, the way data are obtained by (random) pho
ton counts yields a natural connection for mathematical imaging techniques
\, which we will explain in this talk.\n\nFinally we will discuss extensio
ns in case of a fourth (time or spectral) dimension and discuss applicatio
ns to dynamic PET\, live microscopy\, and Raman microspectroscopy.
