DESCRIPTION:Recently\, holographic techniques have been applied to Condens
ed Matter Systems (CMS) with strongly-coupled electrons. Einstein-Maxwell-
Dilaton (EMD) theories provide an interesting setup for such endeavours\,
 as they allow non-trivial\, non-conformal Infra-Red fixed points\, which a
re postulated to be Quantum Critical (QC) points describing the physics ne
ar extremality. First\, we shall describe the black hole solutions of EMD
theories and review earlier results on their transport coefficients. Then\
, we shall address the issue of how to set holography up for these theorie
s\, using 'generalised' dimensional reduction. Finally\, we shall apply th
is to the previously mentionned QC points.
