DESCRIPTION:Ceramic armour is currently used to protect personnel\, vehicl
es and aircraft from ballistic attack. In this lecture\, we will review ho
w ceramic-armour design has evolved over the years and examine the physics
of projectile / target interaction. How our understanding of the projecti
le / target interaction mechanics can enhance the protective capability of
these structures will also be reviewed.
