DESCRIPTION:On the 22nd November the Revd Dr Toby Howarth will be visiting
  the Woolf Institute to deliver a reflection on 'Perspectives on Mission i
 n 21st Century Britain'. This seminar will mark the launch of the Lambeth-
 Jewish Forum document: Jews and Christians: Perspectives on Mission\, a do
 cument produced collaboratively between the Lambeth-Jewish Forum and the W
 oolf Institute.\n\nThe Revd Dr Toby Howarth\, a Patron of the Woolf Instit
 ute\, has recently been appointed as the Archbishop of Canterbury's Secret
 ary for Inter Religious Affairs. Dr Howarth has long experience of working
  in a diversity of inter religious contexts. Born in Kenya and educated in
  the United States\, his interest in inter faith began during a summer in 
 Pakistan teaching English to Afghan refugees\; since which he has worked a
 nd studied in Cairo\, Uganda\, India and Rotterdam.\n\nDuring his previous
  role as Vice-Principal at Crowther Hall\, Dr Howarth also taught Islamic 
 studies\, following a five year stay in India researching Islamic preachin
 g. Dr Howarth is currently an Inter Faith Adviser to the Bishop of Birming
 ham\, alongside his parish work as Vicar of St Christopher's\, Springfield
 \, a church in a majority Muslim area of the city.
