DESCRIPTION:The Leadership Masterclass series provide interesting insights
  into the world of Leadership.  The speaker Kevin White has had an interes
 ting career in the Civil Service and is currently Director General of Huma
 n Resources at the Home Office.\n\nAs part of the University’s Leadershi
 p and Management development programme we run a series of Masterclasses gi
 ven by people in senior leadership positions outside the University. The a
 im of the sessions is for senior administrative and academic staff to gain
  an understanding of different leadership styles and to hear how different
  people see their role as a leader in a variety of different and often cha
 llenging situations.\n\nThe Masterclasses form part of our leadership prov
 ision and have been running for the past 2 years\, the sessions have typic
 ally been an hour and a half\, split between a presentation and a question
  and answer session and often followed by the opportunity for more informa
 l discussion.\n\nThe most recent speaker was James Ross – former Chair o
 f the Leadership Foundation for Higher Education.  He also holds a number 
 of non-executive roles with organisations including Prudential and BP. \n\
 nPrevious speakers have included:\n\nAlexis Cleveland – former Director 
 General\, Corporate Services Group\, Cabinet Office.\n\nMike Barry – Hea
 d of Sustainable Business\, Marks and Spencer Plc.\n\nJulie Spence – for
 mer Chief Constable of Cambridgeshire Constabulary.\n\nEric Hepburn – Ch
 ief Operating Officer of the Prime Minister’s Office\, 10 Downing Street
 .\n\nPaul Evans – former Head of the Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOC
