DESCRIPTION:Clare Foster will start off the term's seminar series by chall
 enging some of the myths surrounding the art of screenwriting.\n\nUntil sh
 e came to Cambridge a year ago\, Clare was a British screenwriter based in
  LA. She has worked with Mike Newell and Kristin Scott Thomas for companie
 s like Disney\, Film Four and Fox Searchlight. She has adapted novels by J
 ohn Updike\, Elizabeth Jane Howard\, Sebastian Faulks and non-fiction by N
 orman Lewis\, Flora Fraser\, and Debra Kogan. Her original screenplays and
  treatments have won awards\, been optioned\, and developed. Her short fil
 m 'The Lemon Tree'  won awards at Mesnil-le-Roi\, Malta and San Sebastian 
 films festivals. Her background before film school was in theatre.\n\nThe 
 session will be followed by a Q&A.\n\nAll welcome\, no registration requir
