DESCRIPTION:The k-string can be thought of as a bound state of k fundament
al QCD-strings. Its tension has been vastly discussed in the literature. I
n particular\, most analytic approaches in the case of theories with adjoi
nt fermions suggest that the k-string tension respect the Sine scaling. Af
ter having introduced some basic facts about k-string I will discuss how t
he use of Eguchi-Kawai dimensional reduction can help us in computing the
tension. As an explicit example I will discuss in details the reduction of
adjoint-QCD from 3 to 2 dimensions in which the k-string tension can be c
omputed under some assumptions\, whose validity I will analyse.
