SUMMARY:Future High Energy Electron-Proton Scattering: The LHeC Project [P
 ostponed] - Paul Newman (Birmingham)

DESCRIPTION:The LHeC project aims to supplement the CERN machine infrastru
cture with a (nominally 60 GeV) electron accelerator\, producing electron-
proton collisions at an instantaneous luminosity of order 10^33 cm^-2 s^-1
simultaneously with the existing LHC proton-proton collisions. An electro
n-ion programme is also foreseen. This seminar will give an overview of th
e physics potential of an LHeC with this specification and will also brief
ly cover accelerator\, interaction region and detector aspects.
