DESCRIPTION:The High Commissioner for Canada\, Mr Gordon Campbell\, will b
 e speaking at the Cambridge Union Society on *Canada in a changing world*.
  This talk represents the High Commissioner's first public appearance at t
 he University of Cambridge since taking office in September\, 2011. The ta
 lk will be of interest to anyone in the Cambridge community interested in 
 foreign policy\, especially as it relates to Canada-UK relations. \n\nThis
  highly anticipated talk will be followed by responses from Dr. Michael Br
 avo\, a historian of science and public policy from the Scott Polar Resear
 ch Institute\, and Professor Brian Cheffins\, a corporate law scholar from
  the Faculty of Law. The event will be chaired by Dr. Donald Wright\, a po
 litical historian from the University of New Brunswick.\n\nFollowing the p
 ublic talk\, a formal dinner will be held at Old Hall\, the original dinin

 \n\n*Biography for Mr Gordon Campbell*\n\nFormerly the Mayor of Vancouver 
 (1986-1993) and Premier of British Columbia (2001-2011)\, Mr Gordon Campbe
 ll assumed his responsibilities as Canadian High Commissioner to the UK in
  September 2011.\n\nBorn in Vancouver\, Mr Campbell attended Dartmouth Col
 lege in New Hampshire to study English and Urban Studies and Simon Fraser 
 University in Vancouver where he acquired an MBA.\n\nHe worked with Canadi
 an University Service Overseas in Nigeria in the early seventies. He retur
 ned to Canada and worked as an Executive Assistant to Vancouver Mayor Art 
 Phillips from 1972 to 1976.\n\nMr Campbell is married to Nancy Campbell\,
