DESCRIPTION:DNA methylation is a widely studied epigenetic mark known to b
e\nimplicated in tissue differentiation and disease\, specifically cancer.
\nWe show stochastic variation in this epigenetic mark across cancer types
. We use shotgun bisulfite sequencing of 3 paired tumor-normal colon canc
er samples to profile DNA methylation genomewide. This reveals the struct
ure of local\, small-scale epigenetic changes in cancer. We also show hyp
o-methylation of large scale genomic domains encompassing more than half t
he genome. The computational methods used to discover these aberrations w
ill be described.\n\nHosted by Rory Stark.
