DESCRIPTION:Based in the UK's leading cardiology hospital\, PlaqueTec is a
  start-up within the Cambridge Biotechnology cluster. PlaqueTec's novel de
 vice measures intracoronary biomarker gradients in a manner that negates p
 atient to patient variation. For the first time\, this offers the potentia
 l to gather actionable data for surrogate end points\, and potential new d
 ruggable targets for atherosclerosis and Cardiovascular Disease (CVD). Pla
 queTec is nearing completion of its device development and is about to com
 mence its Biomarker Discovery Program. Joe Corrigan\, head of the device r
 esearch programme at PlaqueTec\, will present an overview of the state of 
 the art in CVD diagnosis and the background to the PlaqueTec device.
