DESCRIPTION:Condition based maintenance and the deployment of monitoring s
 ystems to determine the condition of the asset are increasingly becoming p
 opular. However\, there are a wide range of systems to choose from dependi
 ng on the quality of information and system costs. Therefore\, it is essen
 tial to understand the potential benefits of implementing condition monito
 ring systems and to choose the appropriate system that would improve the e
 ffectiveness of maintenance decisions. This talk focuses on quantifying th
 e impact of condition information availability on maintenance decisions. A
  systematic methodology will be presented to determine the value of condit
 ion information and to examine the factors that influence the benefits del
 ivered by condition monitoring systems.
