DESCRIPTION:This talk will describe the work reported in arXiv:1201.2358.
I will discuss the gravitational cusp anomalous dimension and show how it
can be reproduced from the Newtonian limit of General Relativity in Euclid
ean AdS space. This is very similar to results already derived for gauge t
heories\, and we will see how the QED and gravity derivations can emerge a
s special cases of a general formulation with a continuous parameter inter
polating between them. We hope that these results may be useful in examini
ng the relations between gauge and gravity theories.
