e supply and water limitation - Andres Plaza

DESCRIPTION:Carbohydrates play an important role in the structure and meta
bolism of plants such as construction of xylem and embolism repair during
the growing season. The availability of carbohydrates depends directly on
the phenology of each species which is strongly influenced by climate chan
ge. Within the context of carbohydrate supply and by using a highly origin
al approach to integrate seasonal phenology\, carbon balance\, xylem growt
h\, sap flow and cavitation repair\, my aims are to assess how the availab
ility of carbohydrates is affected by seasonal events and the significance
of this for hydraulic conductance (xylem function) and primary production
  in temperate trees.
