DESCRIPTION:Insecure designs in physical security locks\, safes\, and othe
r products have consequences in terms of security\, liability\, and even l
oss of life. Marc Weber Tobias and his colleague\, Tobias Bluzmanis will d
iscuss a number of cases involving design issues that allow locks and safe
s to be opened in seconds. In one instance\, the insecurity of a gun safe
led to the death of a three year old child in the United States. Marc will
demonstrate different products that appear secure but in fact are not. A
case example will also be presented that involved a lock from Finland that
is a perfect example of insecurity engineering. This patented and award w
inning design appears quite secure\, utilizing electronic credentials and
yet is seriously flawed.\n\nSpeaker's Bio:\nMarc is a physical security ex
pert in the United States who is an investigative attorney and leads a tea
m of specialists who analyze locks and security hardware for many of the l
argest lock manufacturers in the world.
