DESCRIPTION: I review the basic motivation for using galaxy clusters as a
precision cosmology probe\, and for cluster cosmology with photometric sur
veys in particular. I summarize current cosmological constraints from the
Sloan Digital Sky Survey\, placing an emphasis on how the Planck Early Re
sults impact the interpretation of optically and X-ray selected galaxy clu
sters. I end by discussing ongoing work aimed at improving these cosmolog
ical constraints\, and extending these analyses to future cluster surveys\
, particularly the Dark Energy Survey.
