DESCRIPTION:Are there any differences in the brains of people who are expe
 rts in maths versus those who have more average or bad mathematical abilit
 ies?\nCan we enhance mathematical abilities? If so\, for how long and what
  the costs or side effects of doing so? \nWhat is it that we have to chang
 e in the brain to make people better at maths?\n\nThese are just some of t
 he questions Roi Cohen Kadoch will answer in his talk on Tuesday. He is a 
 Wellcome Trust RCD Fellow (University of Oxford). His lab's work focuses o
 n several fields including numerical cognition\, synaesthesia\, cortical a
 nd neuronal specialisation\, skill learning and automaticity\, and combine
 \nbehavioural testing of typical and atypical populations together with ne
 uroscientific methods such as fMRI\, and non-invasive brain stimulation te
 chniques.\n\nThe talk will be free for members and 2£ for non-members. Af
 terwards there will be a reception with free food and wine.\n
