 0pm when Professor David Baguley will be reading his paper entitled 'Zola'
 s War and Peace: On _La Débâcle_'. Prof. Baguley's paper will be followe
 d by questions and discussion\, and the meeting will conclude with a glass
  of wine/juice at 6.45pm. \n\nRegistration is not required\, and the event
  is free and open to all.\n\n*_La Débâcle_* was Zola’s most successful
  novel from the time of its publication (1892) and for several years there
 after. This talk will explore the complex generic process of its creation\
 , examine its themes and techniques\, and assess its originality and its c
