DESCRIPTION:Knowing how ocean currents behave\, on the scale of a few kilo
 meters\, is important for both conducting marine seismic surveys and produ
 cing accurate climate models.  In this talk I will outline the goals\, mot
 ivations and necessary background\, of a joint project between the British
  Antarctic Survey and Schlumberger to estimate ocean currents using the da
 ta from towed acoustic streamers.
