DESCRIPTION:In the first part of the talk we will review  Hormander‘s me
 thod of constructing holomorphic sections of complex line bundles.  This m
 aterial will be well-known to experts. In the second part we will outline 
 applications of the idea to limits of Kahler-Einstein manifolds\, and a co
 njecture of Tian. This is recent joint work with Song Sun and is related t
 o other work with Xiuxiong\nChen\,  which we will also discuss briefly.\n
