DESCRIPTION:In the UK and the developed world we now have 15 years experie
 nce in\nPublic Health Genomics - a field in which we bring a multi-discipl
 inary\nperspective to the active and responsible translation of new genomi
 c\nknowledge and technologies to improve population health.  In this\nsemi
 nar I will summarise key aspects of this work\, provide illustrative\nexam
 ples of how our understanding and practice has evolved and go on to\nconsi
 der how this can be made relevant in lower and middle income countries.
