DESCRIPTION:CGHR is pleased to invite you to attend to the *four-day* work
 shop on civil resistance and non-violent conflict with participants from t
 he International Center on Non-Violent Conflict (ICNC).  This is event is 
 organised by the Department of Politics and International Studies (POLIS) 
 and the Cambridge International Studies Association (CISA) with CGHR.\n\nT
 his four-day series of workshops and discussions is designed to provide an
  in-depth and multi-disciplinary perspective on civilian movements and cam
 paigns that defend basic rights\, accountability\, and justice through non
 -violent means. We invite participants from academia (both scholars and st
 udents)\, employees of NGOs and relevant policymaking bodies and active me
 mbers of social movements. \n\nThematic Sessions include: Costs and Risks 
 in Civil Resistance\, Forgotten History of Civil Resistance\, Agency of Pe
 ople and their Collection Actions\, Transforming Physical Space in Civil R
 esistance\, Media in Civil Resistance\, Sustained People’s Nonviolent Mo
 bilization in Egypt\, Movement in Action: Strategies\, Tactics and Plannin
 g\, Civil Resistance and a Violent Flank in South Africa\, Women and Minor
 ities in Civil Resistance.\n\nThe speakers and instructors at the workshop
