DESCRIPTION:Not all traits and diseases can be explained in our DNA sequen
ce. Discoveries in the field of epigenetics – the study of heritable cha
nges which do not involve alterations to the DNA sequence itself - offer a
n important contribution to our understanding of human health. This free s
eminar combines an overview of epigenetics with examples of its applicatio
n in treating and preventing disease. \n\nSpeakers are: Dr Nessa Carey\, S
enior Director\, Pfizer and author of “The epigenetics revolution - how
modern biology is rewriting our understanding \nof genetics\, disease and
inheritance” and Prof. Anne Ferguson-Smith\, Professor of Developmental
Genetics\, University of Cambridge. \n\nThe seminar is free but we do ask
you to register. \n\nwww.phgfoundation.org/15years\n\nThere will be tea\,
