DESCRIPTION:Façade design is becoming ever more complex: clients and Arch
 itects are requesting exciting new geometries\, and high performance mater
 ials are being used to produce the façade elements. Now that BIM is part 
 of the daily tool kit of the construction industry we have the opportunity
  not only to improve the design and construction process\, but also to imp
 rove the designs themselves. By combining knowledge-based techniques with 
 semantically rich - and potentially intelligent - design information\, we 
 can quickly assess early design stage panelisation schemes for manufactura
 bility. This allows us to identify\, communicate and resolve design issues
  early on in the process\, helping to reduce build cost and re-work. \n
