DESCRIPTION:Universities have long been intelligence targets and their imp
 ortance is increasing due to the greater collaboration between industry an
 d academia. This partnership of public research institutions and private c
 ompanies and the creation of new entities spun-out of universities present
 s unique challenges for the protection of commerical intellectual property
  against state sponsored espionage. This presentation will give an overvie
 w of the historical penetration of universities and companies from the col
 d war to the present day.
