DESCRIPTION:Gravitational waves can represent a unique probe of the very e
arly\nuniverse. This seminar concentrates on a particular source of a stoc
hastic\nbackground of gravitational waves\, namely a primordial first orde
r phase\ntransition. The gravitational wave signal is generated by the col
lision of\nthe broken phase bubbles and by the magnetohydrodynamic turbule
nce in the\nprimordial plasma stirred by the bubble collision. It will be
shown how\nthe main features of the gravitational wave spectrum can be pre
dicted by\ngeneral arguments based on the source properties\, such as its
time\nevolution and space structure. Detection prospects will be discussed
\nespecially for the electroweak phase transition\, in connection with the
 \nnew NGO/eLISA mission.
