DESCRIPTION:The topic of the seminar is the numerical simulation of conden
 sed\, two-phase\, chemically active\, energetic materials under compliant 
 confinement. Of particular interest is the propagation of detonation waves
  in non-ideal commercial-grade explosives and their interaction with the s
 urrounding material. The background application\, governing equations\, nu
 merical methods and results will be presented. Issues related to the mathe
 matical formulation of the system and to its numerical solution will be di
 scussed.
