DESCRIPTION:Lucy Cavendish College and Cambridge AWiSE are delighted to we
 lcome writer and historian Jenifer Glynn to speak about her new book\, My 
 Sister Rosalind Franklin.\n\nRoalind Franklin\, a British biophysicist and
  x-ray crystallographer made an important contribution to the discovery of
  the structure of DNA and led pioneering work into viral structure. \n\nJe
 nifer Glynn's book has received great reviews so far\, with New Scientist 
 describing how 'it is the lively\, atmospheric\, personal details\, unique
 ly known to Franklin's family\, that make this book ... substantial'. In t
 his unique family memoir\, Jenifer paints a picture of Rosalind's life\, e
 ducation and influences\, exploring not only her work on DNA\, but also dr
 awing out her work on coals\, carbon\, and viruses. The book includes quot
 es from many of Franklin's letters to her family and is illustrated with a
  number of family photographs. \n\nThis talk is one of a programme of free
  events run by Lucy Cavendish College which are open to the public. Howeve
