DESCRIPTION:The paradoxes of measurement and non-locality are widely regar
ded as the most important difficulties in the foundations of quantum theor
 y. In this talk\, I first give an introduction to these paradoxes by expla
ining how they arise in a standard reading of the quantum theoretical form
alism. I then classify the responses to them which interpreters have devel
oped as solutions on the one hand - rejecting one of the assumptions requi
red to derive the paradoxes as wrong - and dissolutions on the other - rej
ecting one of these assumptions as being based on mistaken conceptual pres
uppositions. An example of an account which aims at a dissolution in that
 sense is outlined and discussed.
